Edmonton Power Skating and Hockey Camps Help Kids Become Faster Skaters and Better Players

It's the NHL Dream: being drafted to the big league and emulating the all-time greatest players. But today, making the cut is tougher than ever. It takes talent, drive and extraordinary skill. Skating technique is not only critical to big-league success, but can boost confidence and help a player enjoy the game more.

"Everyone can learn to skate faster and be a better hockey player," says Scott McQueen, head instructor of Edmonton's Better Player Power Skating and Hockey Camps. "Our goal is to consistently develop and produce the best hockey players on the ice by giving athletes the tools they need."

After a hockey career including elite-level play and training with NHL stars, McQueen has devoted himself to instructing others to excel on the ice. Since 2000 he has trained athletes from children to Major Junior players to skate faster and improve their hockey skills.

Better Player hockey camps consistently sell out several months in advance, McQueen says, and players of all ages come to his Edmonton power skating and hockey school.

"For the motivated hockey player we offer our Better to Best hockey programs with smaller class sizes to give athletes the one-on-one attention it takes to maximize individual improvement," says McQueen. "This is where good players can become truly great."

"Our Better Skater Program offers instruction for all ages and every level of skater. It's designed to take a young or new skater through a progression of optimum skating technique, with successive levels of advancement." No matter where an individual starts, McQueen promises Better Player can make him or her better, faster and stronger on the ice.

Better Skater power skating camps run fall, winter and spring seasons, and Better to Best hockey camps run year-round. A wide range of programs accommodate skaters from age four to adults seeking to keep in shape and improve their skating technique.

It's not all about landing that NHL contract, but Better Player hockey and power skating camps can help gifted athletes hone the skills needed to get there, McQueen says. "I want to share with all players that there is much more to hockey than making the NHL. Becoming the very best you can be brings of opportunity and satisfaction in every aspect of life."
