Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is thrilled to announce that our own BLOOM blog and editor Louise Kinross have been recognized as one of the most inspiring and informative non-profit blogs in the world!

Mark W. Schaefer, a well known blogger and social media educator at Rutgers University, picked BLOOM as one of the nine top non-profit blogs in the world. They were looking for blogs that engage, offer superb content and align with the organization's strategies.

"This blog brought tears to my eyes. If you're a parent, it will probably have the same affect on you." Mark says. "Bloom is about parenting special needs kids. Writer Louise Kinross has something unique and personal going on here. She has nurtured an active, loyal community and with good reason … this is blogging at its best."

Giving a voice to parents with special-needs children, BLOOM couples firsthand family insights with the latest research and expert advice to talk frankly about difficult subjects and celebrate children's successes.

"I'm honoured that BLOOM was recognized among so many outstanding blogs," says Louise Kinross, BLOOM editor. "I'm grateful to our readers for enabling us to grow a worldwide community of families and professionals who share the joys and challenges of parenting children with disabilities, support each other and celebrate our children."

Congratulations to Louise Kinross and all the parents and families who make up the BLOOM community!
