Fat bastard releases Blanc de Blancs Bubbly for the Holidays
Top selling brand toasts the newest Fat bastard

SEATTLE—October 25, 2005—Fat bastard, the French wine phenomenon, has added a non-vintage Loire Valley Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine just in time for the holidays. This further compliments its already successful collection of wines by winemakers Thierry Boudinaud and Guy Anderson. In keeping with the Fat bastard theme, this bubbly offers top quality at a great price, retailing for a suggested $17.99 per 750 ml bottle. This limited production, methode traditionnelle sparkling wine is a blend of 50% Chenin Blanc and 50% Ugni Blanc and enjoys nine months of lees contact before disgorging.

The bubbly bastard is the latest addition to the Fat bastard portfolio of wines which debuted a Grand Reserve wine earlier this year. Winemaker Thierry Boudinaud says of the wine, “Fat bastard sparkling wine gives consumers a great quality bubbly with an unforgettable name and image that will uncork fun and add conversation to every special occasion.” Described by Boudinaud as, “Pale, straw-colored, with a fine bead and floral notes, this sparkling wine is medium-dry with soft strawberry aromas and a rich, round mouthfeel. Its subtle floral and nutty notes in the aromas are reflected on the palate.”

“Our fans know that Fat bastard is very serious about quality even though the name itself is meant to be anything but serious,” said Fat bastard co-owner and importer, Peter Click of Click Wine Group. “We continuously hear from consumers that Fat bastard is a great everyday wine and the additions this year of the sparkling wine and Grand Reserve make perfect holiday entertaining wines or gifts.”
