Pattaya is preparing to host the Hotelier Games 2011, which will be held at two local schools and include a variety of sports.
The event is due to take place at Pattaya Schools Six and Seven from August 15th to 20th and will see management and other staff from hotels across the region compete against each other.
While there will be various different sports played during the competition, the only confirmed sides are men's and women's volleyball teams and a men's football side.
August looks set to be a busy month for hospitality workers in the area, as the Pattaya Food & Hoteliers Expo 2011 is set to take place just before the sports tournament from August 5th to 7th.
This year's Hoteliers Games is the 21st edition of the occasion, which is organised by the Eastern Chapter of the Thai Hotel Association to promote friendship and good health among workers in the industry.
The organisation recently elected its new leadership team, with outgoing president Chatchawal Supachayanont being elected as one of two vice presidents and former vice president Bundarik Kusolvit taking his place until 2012.
