DirectRooms.com reports that the Safety Pharmacology Society will be meeting in Innsbruck for the 11th edition of their annual conference which will explore the ways in which the society can help improve drug safety.

The event will be gathering all members working within the pharmaceutical industry including regulators, CRO's and academics to share ideas on best practices. Safety Pharmacology will be discussed in detail using theory, case studies and practical experiences to improve the field.

During the discussions a number of topics are set to be addressed as the agenda includes reviews of issues such as creating greater cooperation between the industry and academic regulators during safety assessments. Other areas include the use of technology in compound screening and how safety pharmacology can be integrated with toxicology.

The conference will take the form of poster presentations where attendees are being invited to submit ideas that will come under review at the event. An exhibition also runs alongside the presentations which will showcase the latest technology and services essential to practitioners.

At the end an awards ceremony will recognise those members that have made a significant contribution to the society.

All the events run from 19th to 22nd September 2011 at the Congress Innsbruck which is a short walk to many hotels in Innsbruck.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "Hotels in the area are going to be filling up with attendees to the forum so visitors should check online first before arriving in the city in order to get a reservation."
