This year's Newquay Fish Festival is set to run from Friday September 9th to Sunday September 11th.
Combining the Cornish resort's status as a vibrant holiday hotspot with the fishing heritage of the surrounding area, this popular event attracted more than 12,000 people in 2010.
Now in its ninth year, the festival will once again offer visitors a busy programme of live entertainment, children's activities and culinary demonstrations by local chefs.
Of course, the emphasis is on enjoying fresh seafood, with local hotels and restaurants promoting the very best in produce sourced from waters off the Atlantic coast of Cornwall.
However, there are also plenty of other attractions to please the most discerning gastronomes, including the chance to enjoy traditional Cornish pasties, crepes and chocolate fountains.
In a statement on the event's official website, Lynda Cherry of Newquay Town Council said: "We are proud and happy to support the Newquay Fish Festival.
"It is one of the best events that happen in the town. It is enjoyed by locals and tourists alike." offers a large selection of luxury hotels in Cornwall that could appeal to festival-goers, including the Jamaica Inn Cornwall.
