The Miss International Queen pageant, an event aiming to foster understanding of transgender communities worldwide, will be held in Pattaya next month.
Taking place at Tiffany's Show Theater from October 31st to November 4th 2011, the competition is open to transgender and transsexual people from around the world and will allow them to show off their beauty and intelligence.
It is open to 18 to 36-year-olds, with winners of the pageant set to claim cash prizes of up to $10,000 (£6,260) as well as the official Miss International Queen Crown.
Miss International Queen is organised each year to help improve cultural acceptance of transgender people and create human rights awareness, while promoting Pattaya as a centre for entertainment and tourism.
It also helps to raise money for the charitable body the Royal Sponsored AIDS Foundation.
Mezzanine seats for the final round of the contest on November 4th are available for 1,500 baht (£31.40), while VIP seats can be purchased for 2,500 baht.
