Sports fans will be able to enjoy an exciting rugby tournament in Bangkok next month thanks to the return of the annual Bangkok Rugby Sevens competition.
The 2011 edition of the event will be held between October 28th and 30th at a number of venues in the Thai capital, with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Beaumont Partnership and Xpotential UK among its sponsors.
It incorporates competitions for men's and women's teams, which will feature 20 and eight teams respectively, while separate boys' and girls' youth contests will take place a month later.
The inaugural Bangkok Sevens took place in 1995 and involved four international teams and 14 local squads, but since then 198 foreign and 264 Thai-based teams have taken place, with two Men's Cup winners hailing from the UK.
Last year, New Zealand side Grammar-Carlton won the men's contest for the third year running, while the women's final was won by Australia's Murri Magic.
The event aims to showcase the vibrancy of Thai culture, while also demonstrating the exciting nature of Sevens rugby.
