October 06, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Three winners of the 2011 Collaborate to Innovate Awards were announced and honored at the 10th Annual ProcureCon USA event (www.procureconusa.com) on September 12 in Atlanta, GA at the JW Marriott, Buckhead.

This summer, IACCM and ProcureCon invited procurement teams to show off their collaborative efforts by entering their unique story into the Collaborate to Innovate Awards. To be considered a nominee, procurement teams submitted a step by step entry that described an innovative process they have implemented either in the area of internal collaboration, external collaboration or innovative collaboration.

The ProcureCon Advisory Board reviewed the entries and chose one winner in each category. The winners are:

  • Internal Collaboration - Baker Hughes, represented by: Anthony Aming, Enterprise Business and Applications Architect
  • External Collaboration – The McGraw-Hill Companies, represented by: Kevin Giblin, Director, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
  • Innovative Collaboration – VALE, represented by: Marcos Saraiva, CPO

  • Each winner was interviewed by Susan Avery of MyPurchasingCenter.com and by IACCM for an article in their Contracting Excellence Magazine. For detailed case studies about each submission, visit www.procureconusa.com.

ProcureCon also honored Pete Connelly, CPO at Leggett & Platt. A long-time advisor of ProcureCon, Pete recently retired from his role at the $4.5 billion diversified manufacturer with 200 factories worldwide. He transformed the supply organization and payables to a center-led decentralized model with hundreds of millions in achieved benefits on the balance sheet and in cost reduction. Pete is an avid industry advocate and remains involved in ProcureCon.
