Hong Kong tourists can get into the spirit of Christmas this December by taking a trip to see the acclaimed local production of Scrooge the Musical.
The heart-warming family show will be staged by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre between December 17th and January 2nd 2012, in a revival of a production that won three Hong Kong Drama Awards in 2009.
Based on Charles Dickens' classic novel A Christmas Carol, the play brings the story of Ebenezer Scrooge's transformation from bitter miser to kindly philanthropist to life with music from Leslie Bricusse.
The Hong Kong staging will feature a local cast and a Cantonese translation from Anthony Chan, with English and Chinese subtitles both provided.
Tickets are available on most nights for HK$220 (£17.90), with a special HK$20 reduction on offer for those attending weekday performances.
Meanwhile, the matinee shows on December 18th and 27th and January 2nd will be followed by meet-the-artists sessions.
Performances will be held at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre, which has a capacity of just under 470.
