Pattaya will play host to a diverse programme of events to welcome in the new year during the Pattaya Countdown 2012 celebration.
To be held between December 25th and 31st 2011, the festival is being organised by Pattaya City and Chonburi Administration Organisation and will take place at Bali Hai Pier, a popular tourist destination.
A total budget of around 12.5 million baht (£259,800) has been allocated by the local authority to fund the programme of activities, which will culminate in a spectacular fireworks show on New Year's Eve itself.
Other events include Thai cultural performances, a talent contest and music from DJs, as well as live concerts from some of the best-known artists in the country.
Attendees will also be able to shop at booths set up at the venue by a range of different sponsors.
People attending the event will find plenty to enjoy at Bali Hai Pier, which is located in the southern part of Pattaya.
The destination is commonly used by tourists wishing to hop on a boat to one of the local islands, including the oft-frequented Koh Larn.
