The Cygnet New Theatre in Exeter is preparing to stage What Would Helen Mirren Do?, a one-woman play by Josie Melia.

Running from Thursday January 12th to Saturday January 14th 2012, the comedy drama stars Anita Parry as mother and supermarket worker Susan, who is forced to reappraise her existence when she is given a promotion.

After adopting glamorous actress Helen Mirren as a role model, Susan suddenly finds her life undergoing dramatic changes.

The play, which was a critical success at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2010 and has since toured the UK, sees Parry perform as a host of characters.

As well as the central character, she appears as the supermarket boss, a management trainer, Susan's children and several others over the course of the play.

Tickets for What Would Helen Mirren Do? can be purchased online, with standard seats priced at £10 and concessions available for £8. The show will begin at 19:30 GMT each night.

Theatre-goers planning a trip to Devon will find an array of last minute hotels at LateRooms.com, which recommends Acorn Lodge in Torquay for those seeking comfortable accommodation close to the seafront.
