Visitors to Pattaya in April can participate in the Wanlai Pattaya Na Klue Festival, which is the city's version of the famous annual Songkran celebrations.
Running from Saturday April 7th to Sunday April 15th, the festival will offer people a chance to take part in traditional activities such as pouring scented water on a Buddha image and offering alms to monks.
Other versions of the event taking place in the province of Chonburi include the Ko Sichang Songkran Festival and the Bang Saen Songkran Festival.
Songkran is the new year celebration that takes place in various forms across Thailand in April.
Popular with both locals and tourists, the modern version of the festival is most famous for the throwing of water.
In the spirit of fun and entertainment, people roam the streets and drench each other with water guns, buckets and garden hoses.
However, this boisterous pastime is not the only important aspect of Songkran, as it is also traditionally a time for people to pay respect to their elders and visit family members.
A wide range of Pattaya hotels can be found at, including the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort.
