Motorbike enthusiasts will be flocking to Phuket this April to take part in Phuket Bike Week, an annual celebration of high-powered machines.
To be held at Patong Beach from April 6th to 8th, the 2012 event is the 18th edition of the popular festival and will include a wide variety of different activities, such as parties, live music performances, prize draws, special dinners and a beauty pageant.
The centrepiece of the show is the Motorcycle Exhibition Festival, which runs from 15:00 to 00:00 local time each day and will showcase bikes and apparel from leading brands such as Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Yamaha, BMW and Kawasaki.
Other elements of Phuket Bike Week include tattoo, body art and fire dance shows, tree planting sessions to raise awareness of environmental issues and a special bike procession on the final day.
The festival has been running since 1995 and has grown significantly in stature over the years, with crowds of more than 30,000 expected to attend in order to see around 3,000 different bikes.
