ConcertCrowd, a new web and mobile destination for discovering live music, was selected as a finalist in the Music Technology category for the 4th annual SXSW Accelerator presented by Microsoft BizSpark, the marquee event of SXSW Startup Village where early stage technology companies demo innovative new technologies in front of influential industry judges and a live audience. Sponsored by Microsoft BizSpark, HTC, The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Turner Broadcasting, and .net, hundreds of companies submitted to present at the SXSW Accelerator, where ConcertCrowd was selected out of 56 finalists in seven different categories.

The three-day event will be held Monday, March 12th - Wednesday, March 14th. As a key event of SXSW Festival's Startup Village, the Accelerator competition will feature finalists across categories including News Related Technologies, Social Media and Social Networking Technologies, Innovative Web Technologies, Entertainment Technologies, Health Technologies, Mobile Technologies and Music Related Technologies.

ConcertCrowd will present alongside seven other companies in the Music Related Technology category on Wednesday, March 14th at 2 PM in room 10B of the Austin Convention Center.

Coinciding with this event, ConcertCrowd is also launching their HTML5 mobile web app, which can be accessed via any smartphone browser by going to concertcrowd.com. The mobile web app automatically geolocates the user and shows them all the live music events around them. On flash-enabled phones, users can also stream tracks and sample music from many bands through ConcertCrowd's partnership with Rdio, a streaming music provider.

"We're extremely excited and honored to be finalists in the SXSW Accelerator. It validates our efforts to create a best in class live music discovery application," said ConcertCrowd Founder, Arman Javaherian. "And with the launch of our new mobile web app, any user in the world can go to concertcrowd.com on their mobile phone and discover all the live music happening around them."

ConcertCrowd is the only application aimed squarely at live music discovery, as opposed to tracking. With an acute focus on creating the best user experience, combined with having one of the largest events databases in the world, ConcertCrowd aims to help fans discover their next favorite show no matter where they are.

"SXSW's Accelerator competition continues to attract a high caliber of applicants, and we are very excited to present this year's finalists," said SXSW Accelerator Event Producer, Chris Valentine. "Fostering innovation is core to the SXSW Interactive and Music Festival, and this year's Accelerator, as a highlight of Startup Village, is a great way to continue this by bringing today's new innovations to the SXSW community."
