Rent-A-Center in Arkansas Donates to Boys & Girls Club of Saline County

April 19, 2012 - On April 12, 2012, electronics and furnishings, including two large-screen HDTVs, two media stands, two sofas, two love seats, two gaming consoles, and four computers, were donated by Rent-A-Center to an Arkansas Boys & Girls Club in Benton. The donation is tied to a philanthropic initiative dubbed "Random Acts of Caring," launched by in 2008 by Rent-A-Center.

Arkansas advocate and chief professional officer of Boys & Girls Club of Saline County, Jasen Kelly, said, "In these tough times, the Boys & Girls Club of Saline County is needed to support entire families in our community. Thanks to this great donation from Rent-A-Center and their dedication to Boys & Girls Clubs, we can continue to positively impact our community."

Boys & Girls Club of Saline County's mission is to transform Saline County one child at a time. The newly created teen room at the Club in Benton was completed with the electronics donation by Rent-A-Center. Arkansas youth will be able to hang out in the room after school, in an interactive, safe, and supportive environment.

"We selected Boys & Girls Club of Saline County in recognition of this organization's longstanding commitment to meeting the needs and improving the lives of Saline County youth," said Kenneth Jones, public affairs manager for Rent-A-Center stores. The Arkansas donation marks the 83rd act undertaken since Rent-A-Center launched this initiative to support the communities it serves.
