Sundance Vacations Employees To Participate In 5K Fun Run For Charity

Employees of Sundance Vacations will enter into the 20th Annual Do It For The Kids 5K Run, hosted by the Wyoming Valley Children's Association on Wednesday, April 25 in Wilkes Barre. The 5K race course will take runners through RiverCommon, Nesbitt Park and Kirby Park. Proceeds from the event will help offset the cost of therapy, education and services to developmentally disabled children in the area.

Sundance Vacations employees Ron Vaccaro and Tina Frisbie will run in the 5K race, and volunteers Christina Allen, Courtney Long, Mike Heck, Jessica Norton and Debra Wegrzynowicz will assist with the race event. Besides the competitive 5K event, children under 10 years of age can participate in the Kids Fun Run, which follows the same course.

"The work of the Wyoming Valley Children's Association makes a big difference to families in this area who have developmentally disabled children, and we're happy to support our employees in this particular exceptional event."

Runners support the event through race registration fees. Non-participants in the race can also make pledge donations on behalf of the runners to the Wyoming Valley Children's Association. "It's critical that we support the work of the WVCA," says Dowd. "Autism, Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities can take a huge toll on families, both emotionally and financially. By supporting the WVCA's charitable events, our employees can help local families secure the treatment and education these children will need to thrive."
