Holidaymakers seeking an authentic taste of Cornwall may like to attend this summer's Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival.
Taking place from Friday June 15th to Sunday June 17th, the annual event is a celebration of traditional Cornish music and songs of the sea.
It is billed as the world's largest free festival of maritime music, with people gathering at various venues in the town for singing sessions.
The festival was founded in 2003 by Falmouth Shout, an association of singers who aim to keep the history of tall ships and sea shanties alive in the coastal resort.
As well as featuring groups from all over Cornwall and elsewhere in the UK, the event has been known to welcome singers from The Netherlands and France.
Custom House Quay and Events Square usually provide focal points for the singing, while last year saw historic ship The Matthew and Trelissick Garden added as new venues.
Visitors seeking places to stay in Falmouth will find a large selection of accommodation at, which recommends the Falmouth Hotel.
This hotel boasts a prime seafront location, set in five acres of landscaped gardens with views over the famous port.
