HCL Recruitment Gears up for the Games

June 26, 2012 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
HCL is preparing for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games by equipping staff, clients and job candidates with the necessary tools to operate 'business as usual'.

CEO Stephen Burke believes HCL's business continuity will be the key to supporting clients and candidates during the Games.

"One of the biggest challenges for the health and social care markets will be to operate smoothly at this time. HCL is currently putting systems in place to ensure we are supporting our staff members and candidates in order to continue providing the highest standard of care to hospitals and Trusts," Mr Burke said.

With more than 340 staff members and over 2,000 temporary and permanent doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, qualified social workers and administration and clerical staff supplied to both the public and private sectors every week, it is imperative HCL gets it right.

"HCL's head office operates in central London and our candidates work in hundreds of hospitals and Trusts up and down the country. We recognise that we work in some of London's busiest hotspots and need to be prepared so our staff and candidates can make it to work."

Improving efficiency

"Our preparations include internal and external campaigns which communicate to staff how their travel to and from work will be affected and how this in turn will affect the travel of our candidates. Essentially, we are making everyone as aware as possible of all potential transport challenges and communicating advice as a simple way to prepare for these,"

Mr Burke believes HCL is in a strong position to cope during what he envisages will be a pressured environment.

"We have also implemented a business continuity action plan across the organisation. We want to be in a position where we are fully prepared - we don't want to turn around at crunch time and panic,"

The plan addresses HCL's potential challenges, outlines critical activities and how the Games may affect these, and a strategy for dealing with these disruptions.

"We are currently testing and exercising plans and will review these in the run up to Games time. The London Olympic and Paralympic Games will be the largest sporting event in the world, and we want to embed business continuity at all levels within HCL in order to continue providing public and private sectors with the highest standard of care."

Ends.
