Global Consumer Streaming Site Mydeo Goes Native with Multiple Currency Support

November 08, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Mydeo today announced the launch an upgraded version of the popular consumer video streaming service with new localised packages available in US Dollars, Euros and Pounds.

“Our goal has always been to make the process of streaming personal videos very simple," said Cary Marsh, Mydeo’s founder and Managing Director. "We already have a user base spanning over 150 countries, so we’ve made payment even easier for our members by allowing them to choose their preferred currency. It’s just a small part of our ongoing programme of improvements to the service so watch this space."

The Mydeo site allows users to stream their videos on a pay-as-you-go basis, so members only pay when they choose to upload a video. Once uploaded, members can make use of the many cool sharing tools, like customised video emails or easy-code to embed videos in webpages, blogs or personal webspace areas such as myspace or Xanga. Streaming, rather than downloading, lets people view a video file almost instantaneously, lets them skip to other parts of the video without waiting and ensures that users retain ownership of their personal video content.

Currently Mydeo is offering a free trial to both new and existing users for streaming videos up to five minutes long.

In August this year, Mydeo announced it had integrated its service into the popular home video editing package Windows Movie Maker 2 to allow millions of Windows XP users to upload their videos to a global streaming network directly from its familiar interface.
