Brief description:

North London's catching on to the Playlist Club, upstairs at The Progress Bar. (162 Tufnell Park Road, London, N7 0EE ). The last event was the best yet, and the next party takes place on November 27. Playlist is a party with a difference - you are the DJ, judge or dancer. Just bring your favourite 15-minute playlist on an iPod or other digital music player and play your songs, first come, first served. The best DJs win prizes from new sponsors, Everything iPod (www.everythingipod.co.uk). If you love music and don't have a music player come along and listen to diverse sounds in a genre-free melting pot of musical desire. Come along and party with the Playlist people. November 27. Free entry. www.ipod-dj.com/playlist

Description:

Three lucky DJs walked home with brand-new MP3 players after Playlist's last party, others received free subscriptions to Rip and Burn magazine. Why? Because they played tunes that got party-goers and judges moving. How? Playlist is your night. There's no superstar DJ, just music lovers itching to share their style. It's a club where music matters.

We invite music lovers to turn up with their own 15-minute playlists, an iPod or other digital music player, and to sign up to play out; tune in, turn on and drop out those tracks. The best DJs win prizes - or at least endless adulation, the only catch is that volunteer judges decide who the best DJs are, and if you don't cut it - they can hook you off!

Music matters, it's the way we use it that is changing. It's not genres that count, it's great tunes; not uniform taste but diversity, art meets individualism. Playlist is all about the music. It's also experimental. Who knows what will happen? DJs who get the best reaction win prizes (thanks to Everything iPod).

Bring your own mixes, bring your own tunes, bring your mash-ups, if you like. If you love music and just want to find a great time you can come too: you don't have to be a judge, or a DJ - you just have to be yourself. We promise sounds, lights, prizes, decent toilets and a well-stocked bar - the Progress Bar. We'll party till late.

It's free, there's prizes, and you're in control. If you would like to meet people who like this idea, come and meet each other here, at London's Playlist club on November 27.
