IWC Launch New Ingenieur Collection In Rivoli Outlets Across Qatar

Switzerland’s leading watch manufacturer, IWC Schaffhausen announced the countrywide launch of the IWC-Mercedes AMG Ingenieur Watch collection across Rivoli outlets in Qatar at the Landmark Shopping Mall in Doha yesterday (November 9th).

“For IWC, the Ingenieur has been a “watchword” since 1954/55 and one of the best-known watches from IWC is now celebrating a comeback after 50 years,” said IWC Brand Manager, Gianfranco D’Attis.

He noted that the Ingenieur is the best-equipped watch for all earthly challenges and is sporty, attractive and particularly sturdy. “The Ingenieur embodies purism of the highest level and underlines our strategic partnership with the engineering brand name: Mercedes-AMG,” he observed.

The Ingenieur Automatic AMG in a titanium case is the result of a new partnership; a statement of the mutual values that connect IWC and Mercedes-AMG as “engineer’s brands” with a drive for perfection.

The strategic alliance of these two companies, closely related in spirit and philosophy, has found its first mutual expression in the Ingenieur Automatic AMG and its counterpart, the Ingenieur Chronograph.

IWC watches are known for their exemplary engineering and the name IWC is synonymous with excellence in high-end watch manufacturing.

The very first IWC “Ingenieur” was produced in 1955, and only 1,000 were ever made. Today they are sought-after collectors’ items.

An American engineer from Boston named Florentine Ariosto Jones, established IWC in 1868. The company was one of the first watch manufacturers to recognize the potential of the new and increasingly fashionable wristwatch.

The special position of IWC is rooted not only in history, but also in geography. It remains the only watch factory in East Switzerland to this day. The IWC factory on the Rhine is situated far from the watch making centres of West Switzerland.

Leading impulses for the mechanical watch come from IWC. With its 390 employees, the company manufactures these sought-after pieces. Since the year 2000 IWC has belonged to the watch division of Richemont SA.
