Bright Builders, Inc. today celebrates the distinction of being named the third-fastest growing company in Utah. The company, founded in 1997, has grown every year, despite the dot-com sector collapse in 2000.

When asked why he thinks the company managed to thrive while so many other Internet-related businesses failed during that time, Greg Cole, President, said: “We never thought of the Internet as a money tree. We took it seriously and approached it just like every other type of business. We did the research, created a business model, and didn’t spend beyond our means.”

Brian Clark, the company’s Vice President of Operations, says: “We continue to grow because we focus on our customers. We don’t believe it’s enough just to give customers the right tools for the job. We also provide the support and education to teach our customers how to use those tools effectively in a competitive industry.”

Growth for Customers Means Growth for Bright Builders

Bright Builders’ vision is to help their customers’ businesses expand and reach new markets, even if it means developing new technology to facilitate that growth. Some of the businesses who have stayed long-term with the company are breaking the mold for small businesses. Bright Builders’ top ten customers make anywhere between $100,000 to nearly $1,000,000 in sales annually, with sales growth each year.

One of the top ten, Charles Gottlinger of Georgia, was initially searching for a shopping cart solution for his online automotive tool business. With help from Bright Builders' electronic payment catalog tool and other Web-building technology, his business, Handsontools.com, gained a substantial Internet presence and was eventually invited to host an online storefront on Amazon.com’s Seller Central.

Bright Builders went back to the drawing board and developed the technology to help him manage his new high-volume storefront. During his four years with Bright Builders, Mr. Gottlinger has achieved a 1000% growth in sales.

Creating a Well-Rounded Internet Presence

In addition to a variety of custom services, Bright Builders provides three premier products: the Bright Builder, HammerTap, and the Bright Business Center. These products work in coordination to help small business owners create a well-rounded, lasting presence on the Internet marketplace.

The Bright Website Builder

The Bright Builder, the company’s first Internet business tool, remains a solid foundation for Bright Builders today. With the Builder, small business owners with little or no technical knowledge can create a personalized, eCommerce-enabled website. The websites are complete with pre-built themes, a catalog, order tracking, and online payment capabilities. This product places a professional Internet storefront within reach of ordinary people.

HammerTap Research Software

DeepAnalysis, the heart of HammerTap, is an eBay research tool designed to help sellers make key eBay listing decisions. Researchers can find data such as how well a product will sell, how starting prices influence sales prices, which words to use in auction titles, and which day to begin and end and auction.
Bright Builders teaches Internet business owners that eBay is an efficient way to gain Internet marketing experience, find hot-selling products, and create interest for their web storefronts.

Bright Business Center

The Bright Business Center, led by veteran Internet business coach, Maikel Bailey, is a group of seasoned coaches, specializing in areas such as Search Engine Optimization, business planning, goal setting, and time management. In addition to one-on-one coaching, the Bright Business Center develops tele-workshops and weekly articles that are designed to help all Bright Builders clients gain the skills they need to run successful businesses.

Future Releases

Bright Builders intends to use the current HammerTap suite of tools as a foundation for a much larger product offering. Currently, Bright Builders provides an eCommerce-enabled web storefront builder, along with the HammerTap research tools and several other services and education programs. In the future, HammerTap will expand its role to provide greater continuity between market analysis and market presence.

Upcoming releases include a product tracker, which will analyze a specific product’s performance in several markets. This will provide Internet business owners the ability to compare the success of a product and consumer habits in a market such as eBay to markets such as a web storefront or Amazon’s Seller Central.
