DTX International a Rising Star in a Down Economy

In the midst of all the stories resulting from a failing economy, one company has managed not only to stay afloat, but to thrive. DTX International, based out of Mancelona, Michigan began in 2005 as a part time garage operation at the hands of Thomas Gerard and Brian Foster. Originally the two purchased bulk quantities of merchandise from major online retailers at a low cost, and resold them for a profit. After a few months the two started sourcing their own products and branded them under their own names. Great Northern Popcorn, RAD Cycle Products and RAD Sportz, Pentagon Tools and Paragon Lock and Safe were among the first brands that DTX offered. Year after year the company grew, as well as the product lines, until the company moved into a 48,000 square foot warehouse in Mancelona, Michigan.

As time went on, more brands for different product lines were added including Kodiak Tarps, Earth Worth Hydroponics, Square Perfect & Shutter Starz Photo Equipment, and the Pet Trex line of pet products. Many of these product lines have become innovators in their respective markets, and product lines such as Great Northern Popcorn and Square Perfect have become industry leaders. In 2012 DTX International added the Elf Stor to their growing list of brands. Elf Stor is a line of holiday products including Christmas Tree bags and wreath storage bags. At present, their products are available at several major big-box retailers.

DTX has expanded rapidly and the operation has gone from 2 to 17 full time employees. Due to this expansion, last month DTX International added a 12,000 square foot warehouse which increased their square footage to over 60,000 square feet. With products arriving and being shipped to dealers daily, DTX Internationals' capabilities seem endless.

Not satisfied with just selling their own products, DTX International also employs a full time crew to handle repairs and technical issues on all products sold. Should repairs be necessary or parts need replacing, it is all handled in house at their Mancelona facility. "All of our products carry warranties, several carrying lifetime warranties, and we stand behind those warranties 100%," said Tom Gerard, co-founder of DTX International. "Because of our customer loyalty and repeat customers," continued Tom, "we feel we must be doing something right, which has enabled us to grow despite the current market trends."

DTX International understands there are no guarantees in today's world marketplace; but by filling needs when they present themselves, and making wise product line investments, DTX International is positioned to be successful for many years to come.
