MIAMI, FLORIDA November 11, 2005— Fun 4 Kidz, Miami’s newest children’s charity, hosts it’s first-ever joint holiday cocktail party and toy drive. In collaboration with Homestead Miami Speedway and the Children’s Home Society of Miami, this star-studded event will take place December 16 from 7-10 pm.

During this benefit, community leaders and sponsor athletes such as Lauryn Williams and Antrel Rolle will come together at Homestead Miami Speedway’s Champion’s Club in support of this good cause. “We are hoping to receive enough toys to brighten each Children’s Home Society child’s holiday season”, says Michelle Appelrouth, Director of Public Relations for Fun 4 Kidz.

Throughout the fundraiser, attendees will have the opportunity to donate toys for kids of all ages as well as bid on silent auction items all benefiting the South Florida community. Auction items are to include autographed sports memorabilia, Miami Heat basketball tickets and even gift certificates to South Florida’s most up and coming food establishments such as The Cereal Bowl Café.

Fun 4 Kidz was created by native Miamian and University of Miami grad, Andrew Post. With a few select childhood friends by his side, he developed this charity only months after graduating college. “I felt as though there was a need in the community for a charity dedicated to the fun aspect of life,” says Post.

Both Post and his childhood friends grew up loving sports and the arts. After working at a public high school, he realized many of the children in Miami do not have these opportunities. Fun 4 Kidz is trying to make these opportunities available to all of South Florida’s youth one child at a time.

The holiday toy drive will kick off on December 16 and continue throughout the holiday season. For further information, please call Michelle Appelrouth at (305) 519-5919 or visit our website at www.fun4kidz.org.

A Note on Fun 4 Kidz

Created by young post college students, Fun 4 Kidz aims to enable those children who have not lived a life of luxury to enjoy the privileges that many other children experience. Fun 4 Kidz plans to host bi-annual special events, such as athletic clinics and carnivals to reward under-privileged children for believing in their dreams.

Additionally, Fun 4 Kidz has set up two scholarship funds. The first fund has been assembled to enable those children who are unable, to attend summer camps throughout Miami-Dade County. The second fund is designed to enable children who enjoy athletics and the fine arts to be exposed to them on a more structured level. In addition to providing a safe environment to practice these talents, these programs provide a sense of teamwork, dedication, sportsmanship, and hard work, qualities that all lead to a path of success.
