Artist Takes The Driving Seat!

Gloucestershire based artist, John Hayes, an Associate of the Guild of Motoring Artists (AGMA) has teamed up with Car Bazar, the online gift store for car lovers. Car Bazar is to display his fine pencil limited edition prints that include some real favourites such as the Mini Cooper featured in the ‘Italian Job', and ‘James Bond's' Aston Martin Vanquish. A 1926 Bugatti, Type 35 and many other classics are included in his collection.
John originally began drawing portraits and since being semi-retired he has been able to devote more time to his love of pencil drawing. His drawing technique creates a photo realistic image that is seen in his exceptional work.

Having spent most of his working life as a precision engineer, it seemed only natural for John to use that skill to produce these fine pencil drawings. His keen eye for detail is reflected in his dramatic and remarkable drawing style. Unlike most artists John has had no formal training; he is entirely self-taught and has a natural talent for producing exceptional artwork. Each drawing is meticulously produced and can take between 20-30 hours to complete.

A few years ago a work colleague asked John to draw his Morris Minor saloon, as an artist he found that the techniques he applied to drawing portraits worked equally well for drawing cars. Since then John has produced a portfolio of classic, vintage and modern cars and his superb work has been used in Classic Car Magazines.
