Ram Features Hunting-Inspired Mossy Oak Edition Pickup at SHOT Show

HOT SPRINGS, Ark., Feb. 4, 2013 — Hunters have special needs when it comes to finding their perfect vehicle, and when deer season calls, the all-new 2013 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman is designed to meet those needs. In January Ram once again teamed up with Mossy Oak, a prominent camouflage brand, to take a special-edition truck to SHOT Show, an annual tradeshow for the hunting, firearms and fishing industries. Sporting Mossy Oak camouflage on its bumpers, fenders and side sills, the 2013 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman Mossy Oak Edition drew a crowd of visitors interested in its rugged features.

Boosted by a 395-horsepower HEMI V8, the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman offers plenty of capability for remote adventures. Off-road-ready tires, underbody protection and available four-wheel drive make the Outdoorsman an excellent choice for hunters who explore off the beaten path, while a standard class IV receiver hitch and an optional rearview camera make it easier to transport hunting blinds or other large equipment by trailer. Two bed lengths are also available, with each featuring the watertight RamBox cargo management system for storing guns, fishing rods and other valuables.

"Hunting season is a long-standing tradition in Arkansas, and local drivers need a vehicle that they can count on when they're heading out to the wild," said Tim Parker, dealer principal of Tim Parker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, a Hot Springs, Arkansas Ram dealer. "The Ram 1500 provides that perfect blend of capability and versatility when Arkansas hunters are heading out to the blinds, and the Outdoorsman trim adds even more thoughtful details like the RamBox, which allows you to safely and conveniently store your outdoor gear."

During the next few months, fans of the Ram 1500 can help out deserving causes by bidding on special versions of the truck. As part of the Road to the Ram Jam music series, the truck brand is auctioning off five Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn pickups that were driven for the past year by country music stars Kellie Pickler, Easton Corbin, Billy Currington, Brantley Gilbert and the Zac Brown Band, with the proceeds going to five different charities.

Organizations benefiting from the donated trucks include the USO Warrior and Family Care program, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Team Rubicon, Camp Southern Ground and the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund. The auctions come on the heels of the invitation-only Ram Jam concert in Nashville on Dec. 29, where all five artists performed.

"We're proud to be connected to an automaker that supports great causes through fun events that truly engage Ram fans," added Parker. "The Road to the Ram Jam gave country-music listeners a chance to see their favorite stars and learn more about a great truck that can really appeal to their lifestyles."
