17TH Annual North Park Festival of the Arts Comes to Town

San Diego – March, 28, 2013 – San Diego's North Park Main Street is proud to present the 17th Annual North Park Festival of the Arts Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on University Avenue between 30th and 32nd Street.

This free festival has grown into a local tradition that includes artwork from around the world, vendor booths, fabulous food, and exciting live music performances spread across six stages. The festival will help to showcase this unique neighborhood's flair for the arts, and will celebrate all types of art forms in its Juried Arts Area with over 40 artists, and provide samples from local breweries.

This is an event for all ages, as little ones can express their creativity with free, interactive activities designed to stimulate and inspire their imaginations in the Hands-On Arts area.

For those of age, the Craft Beer Block offers ten 4 oz. samples from San Diego's favorite breweries for $25 in advance or $30 the day of.

Sponsorship will be provided by Car2Go, a smart car sharing company where drivers can use any available smart cars, then leave it for the next member to use. DonorNation, an organization that provides a way to give back to local schools and businesses, has also provided sponsorship.

About North Park:
Voted by Forbes magazine as being one of "America's Best Hipster Neighborhoods," North Park is anything but ordinary. The Advocate magazine also agreed saying, "Ten years in the making, North Park buzzes as San Diego hippest hood."

North Park is a unique neighborhood of San Diego that can best be described as "diverse." A blend of ethnicities, ages, backgrounds, religions, and socioeconomic classes call it home. The buildings are from the 1900s Renaissance Revival period and are strongly reflected in the architecture and character of the buildings.

North Park Main Street (NPMS) is a private non-profit organization charged with the revitalization of the North Park Business Improvement District (BID), North Park's downtown, and the historic heart of the community.
