Destin Sparks Releases New Limited Edition Photo, "Cryptic Realm"

After spending the past several years travelling all over the country to focus on Australian landscape photography, Destin Sparks found a new place to shoot – the Lamington National Park in Binna Burra, Queensland. It's the site of the newest photo in his collection, "Cryptic Realm".

Why here?
As an award-winning landscape photographer, Sparks spends most of his time researching new places around the Australian countryside to shoot. After plenty of studying – and even a few in-person trips – he decided that the natural beauty of Lamington National Park would be perfect.

For Sparks, though, "Cryptic Realm" is more than just a photo. As he puts it, "Photography is the story I fail to put into words."

He tells that story a little differently than most photographers, though. That's because Sparks uses traditional transparency film, instead of digital equipment.

As for "Cryptic Realm", it will be available on a limited edition basis. Only 100 prints will be sold, at sizes of 20x60 inches and up. The price per photo will go up as more photos are sold.

Why is it only available in larger sizes?
Sparks believes that's the best way to enjoy each photo's beauty. And, thanks to a unique photo processing technique called drum scanning, Sparks can produce very large images, without losing any of the photo's quality. In fact, Sparks taught himself how to use a drum scanner, after getting a machine that had once belonged to famous Australian landscape photographer Ken Duncan.

Once "Cryptic Realm" is sold out, Sparks has plans to release other photos in the coming months. In fact, fans will be happy to hear that this popular Australian landscape photographer plans on making his portfolio much larger over the next few years.
