DALLAS (April 4, 2013) Today, MV Transportation, Inc., announced it has been selected to continue operation of the specialized transportation/paratransit services for the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) for a new contract term. The Access service will provide approximately 173,000 trips a year in the greater Cincinnati area using a client-provided fleet of 44 service vehicles.

The new contract term will extend five base years with one (1) five-year renewal option. MV will continue to manage operations, vehicle maintenance, customer service, scheduling and dispatch.

"MV is thrilled to be selected for another contract term," said Kevin Klika President and Chief Operating Officer for MV Transportation. "This is an important service for people with disabilities in Cincinnati and we look forward to continuing our partnership with SORTA and with the passengers we've come to know over the last decade."

MV has run the Access service since March 2002 and has built a strong partnership with SORTA. Together, MV and SORTA have instituted a number of initiatives to improve safety, efficiency and customer service, such as the implementation of the Trapeze scheduling system and the vehicle repowering program to extend the life of the fleet and increase system efficiency. During the new contract term, MV plans to implement a new dispatch alert system to assist dispatch operations in managing the service.
