CRM systems, image galleries, studio web sites need to handle hundreds of thousands of files uploaded by thousands of different users. Information about each file needs to be stored in a database for further processing. The nature of the File Transfer Protocol and the difficulty in sharing session data between FTP and web servers makes FTP impractical for use in many web applications.

The Rad File Manager can upload and download gigabytes of through an HTTP connection and create a records for each file in a database, where it can be readily accessed by other applications or components. Being an HTTP client, Rad File Manager is more likely to work behind corporate firewalls than an FTP or SFTP client.
