PrivateTel Powers Privacy Manager For Cars.com

December 02, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News

DALLAS – PrivateTel, a developer of privacy-oriented telecommunications solutions, and cars.com, a leading online automotive marketplace, have partnered to launch Privacy Manager, a new phone service that enhances the safety and security of private-party sellers by allowing them to feature a disposable phone number in their automobile ads.

Built on PrivateTel’s ClassAdd platform, the service lets sellers publish a disposable Privacy Manager phone number, and direct their number to ring on any phone they choose—wired or wireless, home, business or mobile. Sellers can also turn off the service after the sale, eliminating unwanted calls.

“Ensuring the safety of cars.com sellers is paramount,” said Chris Long, cars.com’s director of private-party products and services. “Our partnership with PrivateTel reaffirms our commitment to advertiser safety with an easy-to-use service that affords our sellers an important, additional layer of personal security during the sales process.”

Dan Kaluzny, CEO, PrivateTel added, “PrivateTel and cars.com have worked closely together to deliver a Web-integrated safety solution built on the ClassAdd platform that lets sellers and buyers connect by phone privately, safely and anonymously. Any publisher can brand ClassAdd as their own service, sell the service as an integrated component of the advertising sales process, and strengthen their market presence.”

PrivateTel provides all the tools necessary to manage and seamlessly integrate the ClassAdd service into any existing advertising entry system.
