Los Angeles California: RNL Design was named California’s fastest growing firm in the November issue of California Construction. The Los Angeles office of Denver-based RNL saw its revenue increase by 213 percent between 2003 and 2004. The 35-person office is expected to grow to 50 employees by the end of next year. Patrick M. McKelvey, AIA, the managing principal of RNL’s Los Angeles office, credits much of RNL’s recent success to the 2002 addition of Kate Diamond, FAIA as that office’s design principal. The article in California Construction quoted McKelvey as saying, “it’s been a huge turnaround for us in terms of design awareness and diversification into new markets. She’s very good at communicating and selling the design approach to a client.” The survey was based on growth in revenues between 2003 and 2004.
