Museum’s Reading Enhancement Program Gets Support from Target

Easton, MA- The Children’s Museum in Easton announced a partnership with Target in recognition of the museum’s Reading Enhancement Program. The $2,112 grant will support the development of themed reading areas in the Museum.

The Children’s Museum in Easton provides a hands-on experience to facilitate learning through play. The grant will allow for the construction of additional book nooks and the purchase of more developmentally appropriate, books to compliment and reinforce the theme and the experience of the exhibits.

“We are happy to have found a partner so interested in the well being of children and families. We are thankful to Target for supporting our efforts to inspire a lifelong love of learning in children,” said Jane Rotondi, Education Coordinator for the Museum.

The grant is also part of Target’s own Ready. Sit. Read! program and its larger efforts to give back to the community with focus on education, the arts and social services.

For the past 14 years the Children’s Museum in Easton has provided an educational, cultural, and social learning center for children and families. Located in a 100-year-old historic firehouse, the museum hosts over 37,000 visitors a year from 55 communities.
