August 8, 2013 - SiliconExpert Technologies, a leading provider of electronic component management tools, announces the growth of their Conflict Minerals Module which now provides the conflict mineral status on over 1,000 suppliers and growing.

Since the Module's release on March 18, 2013, the number of suppliers SiliconExpert provides conflict mineral statuses, documentation, and smelter information on has expanded significantly, reaching the 1,000 supplier mark in less than 5 months. Through both manual and automatic efforts, SiliconExpert has become a comprehensive repository of Conflict Mineral compliance data.

The Conflict Minerals Module itself is included for all SiliconExpert Part Search and BOM Manager tool subscribers providing the most up to date conflict mineral statuses, all documents and templates available (EICC, COC, Conflict Mineral Policy, Responsibility Report, History, Etc.), customized views, access to smelter & mining information and more.

SiliconExpert first introduced the Conflict Minerals Module to answer to the growing need for supplier conflict mineral statuses to comply with the SEC (Security and Exchange Commission) regulations, specifically section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which came into effect August 22, 2012. The legislation requires companies to report on the origin of tin, tantalum, gold and tungsten and exercise due diligence by filing a public conflict minerals report. Access to this information is quickly becoming imperative as the first report is due on May 31, 2014 for the 2013 calendar year and then annually.
