TWS Jacksonville to hold "Back to School Supply" Drive

August 14, 2013 - The TWS Jacksonville campus is holding a Back-to- School Supply Drive. Starting on Monday, August 12th, 2013 donations of new school supplies will be accepted at TWS Jacksonville campus and they will be donated to The Salvation Army.

The drive will continue through Saturday, August 17th when they will be holding their Open House from 10am until 2pm. You can bring items such as #2 pencils, glue sticks, boxes of tissues, back packs, folders, loose leaf paper and all other school supplies.

"We are really happy to be able to help contribute to our own community in this way, there is such a great need!" said Mary Hammons, Senior Career Services Advisor at the TWS Jacksonville Campus.

According to the National School Supply and Equipment Association, it is estimated that public school teachers spent $3.2 billion in educational products in the 2012-2013 school year, $1.6 billion of it from their own pockets. These estimates are according to the recently-released NSSEA 2013 NSSEA Retail Market Awareness Study. This study, conducted by Perry Research Professionals this spring, reports on teachers' knowledge of parent-teacher stores, including their spending patterns, funding sources, shopping preferences, and factors that influence their purchasing decisions.
