Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Once Again Hosted by Tempe

Tempe, Ariz. – December 7, 2005 – Tempe, Arizona will once again play host this year to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. It was announced Sunday that Notre Dame and Ohio State will meet for only the fifth time in history; this time to battle it out at Sun Devil Stadium on January 2nd, 2006 at 3 pm M.S.T.

This is the 35th consecutive year that the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl has been played at Sun Devil Stadium, where two of the nation’s top teams face off in a game that ultimately impacts the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) standings. Each year, the Fiesta Bowl draws at least one million tourists and spectators to Tempe hotels, restaurants and the 50+ events surrounding the big event, including the pre-game party and pep rally prior to kickoff. Among the most popular events is the Tempe Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Block Party on December 31st which takes place in the Mill Avenue District.

The New Year’s celebration held in Tempe during the Fiesta Bowl offers something for all ages, including carnival rides, fireworks, beer gardens and concert performances.
