Dandridge, TN – After returning from the London Book Fair and meeting with homeschoolers there, The Old Schoolhouse Magazine has enjoyed numerous calls, letters and invitations from home learners situated there wanting information and products especially for them. Accordingly, The Old Schoolhouse Magazine and ten sponsor companies will conduct meetings and workshops across the UK and other parts of Europe for a four-week tour. TOS is the first magazine to bring a tour of this caliber to UK homeschoolers. From March 20 to April 21, 2006 homeschoolers in London, Sheffield, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Scotland, Countesthorpe, South Manchester, Aberaeron, Laugharne, and parts of Germany will have an opportunity to hear about homeschooling in the US and about resources available to the European homeschooling community.

Jane Bullivant, a homeschooling mom and author from Leicester, England told about her experience at a UK education trade show. “Basically it’s aimed at schools, teachers and playgroups. Thousands of schoolteachers attend- so to go as a home educator is a bit like going into the lion’s den.” Through this 2006 tour, The Old Schoolhouse and sponsor companies will provide homeschoolers with support tailored to meet their needs. Bullivant (www.HomeSchoolBlogger.com/DearLordIFeelLikeAWhale) has become one of many UK homeschoolers who have already connected with other homeschoolers through HomeSchoolBlogger.com sponsored by TOS.

Companies such as No Greater Joy, Greek N Stuff, Barker Creek and Apologia have already donated enough homeschool materials to be spread out among 1,000 homeschoolers in the UK. A limited number of meeting times are still available. Companies and support groups who wish to schedule a meeting with the group from The Old Schoolhouse Magazine may contact Anissa DeGrasse at anissa@TheHomeschoolMagazine.com.
