FUR AND FEATHERS - dog, cat, and bird imagery by 5 Triangle artists will be at the The ArtsCenter, Carrboro from December 14, 2005 - January 31, 2006. “Featured artist”
Evelyn Morris Hecht will be joined by Shannon Bueker, Louise Francke, Nerys Levy, and EC “Lisa” Stewart. The reception is during the 2nd Friday Artwalk on January 13, 2006 from 6-9 p.m.- gallery hours are 10 a.m.-10p.m. Mon. through Sat.

Each artist has their own distinctive style, favoring different mediums and working methods. Most original art is unaffordable for many, and so this exhibit will include prints as well as originals with a variety of price points. Oil and acrylic, watercolor, and several print techniques will be featured. Domestic dogs and cats are the main subject, but beautiful wild birds will also be shown.

The unifying element of this exhibit is each artist's passion for and commitment to animals, both domestic and wild. "We all prefer to see "fur and feathers" on the animals' backs, not on humans." Animal rescue is an important part of each artist's life-they have all personally rescued at least one animal, as well as donated work and funds to many rescue events and organizations. Each artist will be donating a percentage of sales to their favorite animal rescue or foundation.
