September 19, 2014 - Seattle, Washington – Local author and tech executive Stella Mowen of Seattle, will debut her first novel "Until the Beat Stops" on October 14, 2014. Her book launch party and fundraising event "hit play, repeat, " hosted by Business Executive, Jane Meuter, and guest speaker, Emmy Award Winning Journalist, Sabra Gertsch in Seattle, WA on November 14, 2014. Until the Beat Stops is set in the high rises of Chicago, the dense forests of Maine and many other places Mowen dares your heart to reach. "Until the Beat Stops" is the contemporary love story of Lilac Hawthorn and the intersecting lives of her four childhood friends. The five of them make up the principals in a successful tech startup, whose mission is helping those with grave fates preserve their legacies for future generations.

The reader follows the story through the lens of narrator, James, who has been hired to document the young entrepreneurs' past, present and future lives. Cutting from scene to scene, each story adds depth and anticipation, taking the reader on an emotional but in the end, wonderfully hopeful journey.
Mowen has been working toward publication for six years, in addition to maintaining a thriving career in the tech and entertainment industry. She is also the founder of The First Hill, a non-profit dedicated to supporting the development of the cures for terminal illness through fundraising and events.

"I am so thrilled to be a part of this event," says Making Strides Tacoma, Committee Chair, Tammy Ferguson. "This book was born out of the need to heal, and through Stella's words, she honors the memory of so many lost, but also celebrates the present with a nod to technology, research and that effervescent part of that human spirit that believes that anything is possible."
