Dynamic Defense Materials, LLC, delivers new ballistic armor design for protection of Council Chambers

Marlton, NJ – April 22, 2015: Dynamic Defense Materials, LLC (DDM), has delivered on a contract with Lawrence Township, NJ to protect members of the council from any potential active shooter situations by armoring furniture and strategic positions throughout the council chambers.

Dynamic Defense Materials has been delivering their patented McCurdy's Armor portable armored wall system for the past eight years to military and law enforcement in the most hostile areas around the globe. This lightweight system has primarily been used as guardposts to protect troops and police by providing protection against small arms, mortars, rockets, artillery, and IED's.

"Recently, with the rise of active shooter situations, we've been approached more and more by local law enforcement and even civilians to see if we can modify our product to meet more domestic needs. It's an unfortunate reality of today's modern times, that armed attacks are happening in America and while it's unlikely you will be a victim of one of these types of attacks, you don't want to wait until it's too late to realize you should have installed some protection." said DDM General Manager Joe Dimond.

According to Dimond, "The first priority during an active shooter situation is to get out of the area as fast as possible and notify police, but sometimes that's just not an option. In those instances, having a place to buy some time in a protected area is critical. I remember seeing recently, during an active shooter situation, where law enforcement was telling people to lock their offices and get under their desks. I just kept thinking, wooden doors and wooden desks don't stop those bullets, so how is this a good plan?!"

In conjunction with DDM's contract announcement, the company is also pleased to announce that it received a separate contract to deliver their new Mobile Ballistic Shield to an undisclosed Federal Law Enforcement agency. This design will protect officers during active shooter situations and will allow them to approach the threat from a safer position.

"We are excited about the opportunity to bring our technology to the local law enforcement market. As I've done more and more research on this issue, it's become very clear that currently used protection is not capable of stopping the level of threats that some of these officers will face. Our product is much better equipped for these situations," says Dimond.
