Huntington Beach Dentist Offers Support to Torrance School

June 17, 2015 - Huntington Beach, CA - Dr. Dimitri Bizoumis is very pleased to announce his involvement with the Center for Learning Unlimited (CLU), a school focused on helping children with specialized needs.

"CLU helps so many kids in our community, kids who may otherwise not get the support they need," Dr. Bizoumis said. "That's why I try to offer the school as much assistance as I can."

Founded in 1985, CLU serves both publicly and privately sponsored students from Kindergarten to 12th grade with "unique, complex learning challenges." The therapeutic education used is built on creating and fostering relationships and crafting individual plans for each student. The mission of CLU is "to reconnect complex children with their academic, social and emotional potential, thereby empowering them to engage as citizens of the 21st century."

One of the ways Dr. Bizoumis helps CLU is through his fundraising efforts. In addition, his wife Leah is on the board of directors and is instrumental in ensuring that the school has the necessary resources to fulfill its mission.

"Leah really cares about the school and I'm always so proud of the work she and the other board members do," Dr. Bizoumis added. "The hope is that CLU will be able to keep helping kids for many years to come."

In addition to his involvement with CLU, Dr. Bizoumis offers dental treatments specific for children with special needs. He aims to create an environment where children with intellectual disabilities can feel comfortable and get the dental care they need.

Dr. Bizoumis has a Pediatric Dentistry Certificate from the University of Southern California, and is also a clinical professor at the school.
