Ron Eslinger, owner and director of the Healthy Visions Wellness Center in Oak Ridge, TN will be offering a HypnoAnesthesia workshop for health care and wellness care workers on January 28th and 29th, 2006. This workshop which has been approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists for 20 Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s) , will be taught at his center’s educational facility located at 800 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Suite A-208.

More than 50 million people throughout this country are either partially or fully disabled by chronic pain. According to a 2002 Reuters Health/ABC News report, pain actually costs employers across this nation $80 Billion annually in insurance costs and lost wages. That’s $80 Billion with a capitol “B” and the figure has been steadily climbing each year. These two statistics alone call for a greater understanding of pain and how its effects can be lessened or alleviated. The Joint Commission Association of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) has strongly supported non-pharmacological methods of pain management. In a recent survey of healthcare costs related to the treatment of pain, the insurance provider, Blue Shield of California discovered that the use of guided imagery, a component of hypnosis, reduced the post surgical patient’s costs by an average of $654.00.

The HypnoAnesthesia for Pain Management workshop will be discussing what happens when pain is no longer useful to the body, the function of the autonomic nervous system and it’s relationship to pain and why hypnosis works well as an adjunct treatment for chronic pain, among other related topics. Attendees will experience a comprehensive step-by-step study of the techniques of dealing with Stress Induced Headaches, Migraine Headaches, Chronic Post Surgical Pain, Cancer Pain, Fibromyalgia, Back and Neck Pain, Temporomandibular Disorder, Tic Douloureux. This 2 day class will be packed with information regarding the importance of cognitive strategies in pain management and how the power of suggestion enhances the treatment of pain, how hypnosis can positively affect the quality of life of cancer patients and understanding and reprogramming cell memory. Participants will even witness a live demonstration of glove anesthesia (numbing of the hand).

Past participants in Ron Eslinger’s workshops have raved about them. “Yours was the most important seminar I have ever taken regarding hypnosis and healing. Little did I imagine what rapid use it would have. I can’t thank you enough.” says Joyce Flynn of Saint Louis, MO. Walter Laesh said “I have been a practicing CRNA since 1975 and have attended multiple continuing education seminars. Unquestionably, this has been the most comfortably intense practical and implementable seminar I have attended.”

The workshop will be held at the Healthy Visions Wellness Center located at 800 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Suite A-208 in Oak Ridge Tennessee. It opens on Saturday, January 28th with registration and continental breakfast and will run to 5:35PM with leisurely morning and afternoon breaks with a working lunch that is provided by Healthy Visions. Sunday’s session will run from 8:00 AM and conclude at 5:35PM also with leisurely morning and afternoon breaks with a working lunch provided by Healthy Visions. Registration can be completed online at http://www.eslinger.net or by phone by calling 865-220-0777.
