November 2, 2015 - For many financially insecure children, the ability to be a kid gets lost in the weight of the stresses of life. During its annual Opt2give Day on November 5th, the Chicago Optomi team will be throwing a pizza & games party for 30 kids who live in an under-resourced apartment complex outside of the city. In partnership with Riverworks of Fox Valley, Optomi will be creating a night to remember for the children.

By the end of 2015, IT staffing firm Optomi will have fed over 1,500 children in the U.S. who would otherwise go to bed hungry every day. Meals given to these children total over 9,000. Optomi's fresh approach to philanthropy connects all the elements of the brand by not only defining it, but also propelling it to record-breaking revenues. According to the organization Feeding America, one in 5 children struggles with hunger. Optomi is committed to alleviating this hunger epidemic. The firm is breaking new ground in the staffing industry with its giving back philosophy.

The IT staffing firm believes that a culture of "doing the right thing" is good business. The company chooses to use its business as a driver for charitable contributions. "The message is simple, when you do business with Optomi, you help children in need", says CEO Michael Winwood.

The company makes an impact on the hunger crisis in the U.S. several ways. Optomi's Opt2give program provides children with weekend bags of food through local food bank backpack programs. With each consultant hired, kids who may not have food in the fridge when they get home from school are fed because of Optomi's efforts. During its annual Opt2give day, November 5th, all of the company's employees spend the day serving organizations in their communities. They host pizza parties for under- resourced children, serve in soup kitchens, feed and mentor at risk inner-city kids, collect food for local food banks and more. The company has instituted additional charity initiatives on a quarterly basis as well. "Giving back is at the core of why we do what we do. As an organization in an industry focused on people, Optomi believes in investing in people's lives", commented Todd Black, COO.
