Boulder Dentist Gives Back By Teaching at Alma Mater, University of Colorado

November 24, 2015 - Boulder, CO Dr. W. Patrick Misischia has found a way to help aspiring dentists achieve their dreams by serving as a clinical assistant professor at his alma mater, the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine.

Says Dr. Misischia, "I really enjoy giving back, and what better way than helping students learn?" As an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Surgical Dentistry, Dr. Misisichia is able to impart his passion for dental excellence. During his time at the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Misisichia received his Master of Science and Certificate of Advanced Periodontics.

Outside of his work with the university, Dr. Misischia offers specialized periodontal care at his Boulder dental office. Periodontics focuses on the health of the structures surrounding and supporting the teeth, particularly the gums. Dr. Misischia offers dental care designed to prevent and treat gum disease and improve overall health of soft tissues. A Chicago native, Dr. Misischia relocated to Boulder following the completion of his Master of Dental Science from the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Misischia often utilizes advanced technology, providing patients with innovative treatment options that conservatively and effectively address the cause of their periodontal issues. In addition to teaching part-time in the Department of Surgical Dentistry, Dr. Misischia is a member of several prestigious dental associations, including the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Boulder-Broomfield Dental Society, American Academy of Periodontology, and serves as a Fellow in the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry.
