Anaheim, CA, January 25, 2006 – Sweet Factory, “America's Candy Store,” today announced the winner of their 2006 “Candy for a Year” contest: Lauren Aurelia Arce from San Diego, CA. Ms. Arce’s name was drawn from over 50,000 entries submitted directly through Sweet Factory stores nationwide in October of 2005.

The annual Candy for a Year contest awards the winner 909 Sweet Factory Gift Certificates, the equivalent of ¼ lb. of candy per day for an entire year. The certificates may be redeemed at any of over 100 Sweet Factory candy stores nationwide and used to purchase any candy variety in the store. Ms. Arce’s picture will also be posted online at www.sweetfactory.com, the company’s new web site offering their full line of over 450 types of candy and more.

“I’m delighted to be this year’s winner. It was really an unexpected surprise,” said Ms. Arce. “I plan to visit the website often to check out my favorite candies and all the toys and accessories before heading in to my favorite store.”

The Sweet Factory stores serve over 5 million guests per year throughout North America. The website offers all of the selection and variety found in the store locations, as well as exclusive gifts, out-of-season candies and nostalgic sweets.
