CHICAGO, IL – Consumers who question the integrity of organizations conducting business on the Web can now take action by utilizing TrustGauge™ - a free resource for consumers that assists in determining the trustworthiness of websites and facilitates reviews and complaints of Web businesses.

Historically, there has not been a way for consumers to determine the trustworthiness of companies doing business online or any opportunity to complain about or praise about an organization. TrustGauge provides an option for consumers to determine who to do business with first, and a recourse when they feel they have been wronged.

Consumers can submit reviews and complaints or check the Trust Score™ of individual websites by downloading the BrowserAccelerator toolbar, which features the TrustGauge, by visiting TrustGauge.com. The BrowserAccelerator toolbar is also equipped with TrustGauge's Review and Complaint system so that consumers can submit information on any site as they surf the Internet.

TrustGauge uses a combination of factors to determine a websites' TrustScore™ including the availability of information about the business such as email and postal address, websites features such as secure billing pages, general traffic popularity (provided by Ranking.com) and the presence or absence of third party validation seals of approval as those provided by ValidatedSite™. Website owners are able to add their businesses' information into the TrustGauge database to improve their TrustScore™.
