Digital Lancashire's Launch Provides Essential Support for Local Businesses

October 4, 2016 - Six leading digital agencies from the North West have set up the community interest company Digital Lancashire. Once a business or professional has registered, it provides unprecedented benefits and support to ensure they can reach their full potential.

Digital Lancashire's ambitious plans include initiatives such as digital skills training, recruitment assistance, career support, and student development. The community organisation will offer this expert advice through its mentoring and support groups, with a particular focus on improving digital literacy standards across the county.

Adam Davis, Technical Director at Soap Media, is one of the founders. He said: "We helped to found Digital Lancashire through a common frustration. The sector is poorly represented throughout Lancashire, particularly when you benchmark us against Manchester. It's the fastest growing sector in the UK and, like many agencies, there's a huge issue around growth and development. We saw a collective goal by providing a voice to represent our common problems and allow members to be heard."

By becoming a member, businesses and professionals can benefit from funding and investment support, career advice, infrastructure assistance, accommodation management, and software support. Additionally, startups will receive help in the early stages of their development with insurance discounts, hosting or software assistance, and help with recruitment or apprenticeships.

Skills development amongst the latest generation of students is another high priority. Young minds across Lancashire's colleges and universities will receive digital training to bolster the economy with a talented new workforce. With initiatives such as the Digital Advantage programme and the Digital Skills Partnership, Digital Lancashire intends to inspire young minds with expert masterclasses as part of its far-reaching plans to boost the economy.

Businesses and professionals can apply now to become members. For the first 100 eligible applications, membership is free. Further benefits of registering include events, eCommerce roundtables, and industry networking for unique opportunities to increase brand engagement and develop careers.
