GEODIS UK Launches New Product Packages tailored to the needs of UK businesses

February 01, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News

Geodis UK has launched a new range of product packages specifically tailored for the UK business community. A product development team was created to evaluate the real business needs of the modern business, their task being to identify and define these needs relevant to the services Geodis UK and the Geodis Group worldwide can deliver effectively and cost efficiently. Listening to the customer and reading the market from a customer’s perspective drove the product specification for these new packages. Market research revealed a need for a simplified product offering, stability, scalability and a customer-supplier relationship based on mutual understanding and benefit. Geodis UK has addressed all these requirements in developing these ‘benchmark’ products for the UK market.

“The transport market is often criticised for being set in it’s ways and is predominantly reactive to market demands, whereas modern businesses are dynamic, globalised and continually evolving. We took the decision to evaluate how we could improve and enhance our service and services to our existing and future clients. Geodis UK is a proactive company and knew innovation was crucial to increasing our competitive advantage in the UK market. The early indications are that we have got it right and we are looking forward to introducing these product packages to UK businesses who themselves understand and value the need for straight-forward integrated solutions to complex business issues related to Freight Transportation, Supply Chain and Logistics.” said Jamie Cuthbert, Managing Director of Geodis UK

Network Solutions – a traditional freight forwarding service package encompassing Airfreight (Aerodis), Ocean, Overland (including eurofirst) and National Distribution with access to the worldwide Geodis Group network of over 22,000 employees in more than 120 countries for our clients is a huge advantage. The Geodis Network Solution also provides ‘Special Project' capabilities for those customers who require bespoke or non-standard services.

Supply Chain Solutions - Regardless of business sector or geographic location, Supply Chain Management is the challenge for businesses that require a streamlined and seamless procedure and a reliable and proactive Supply Chain Management partner nationally, regionally or globally. Geodis’ versatile and proven integrated approach includes transport, logistics, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, project coordination, reverse logistics - the aim of Supply Chain Solutions is to optimise processes: from sourcing to delivery. A transversal SCS approach to flow management is critical - whether it be production, logistics or information flows.

Freight Management Solutions - Businesses, both nationally and internationally, are polarising their Freight Management operations due to the market demands of their clients and Globalisation. Geodis UK has an outsource package that will suit businesses that face the challenge of managing the many elements involved in moving goods and freight shipments. Geodis can ‘adopt’ an entire freight program, end-to-end, including SCM, Logistics, Distribution, Staffing, Systems and Transport. The FMS package is totally scaleable and tailored to meet the business objectives of our clients.

Jamie Cuthbert, Managing Director of Geodis UK, added, “These product packages, particularly the Freight Management Solution, release an organisation to focus on their business while allowing Geodis to manage their entire freight transportation and logistics requirement. Of course this FMS package is ideal for a UK company - introducing immediate business performance gains, optimised productivity, competitive advantage and demonstrable financial benefits. Already the successes and client satisfaction feedback has already justified our investment… when our clients are happy – we’re happy! The Geodis UK strategy is to deliver world class products, service and value to our customers without compromise.”
