The lonliest day of the year.

Christmas Day should not be lonely day, and America's Christian churches can change this situation. Boones Ferry Community Church is inviting other churches to open their doors on Christmas day and invite in those who might otherwise have a lonely Christmas.

This will be Boones Ferry Community Church's (http://www.bfcc.us) first annual Christmas Day open house. Although the sanctuary will be open for personal prayer and worship, this open house is not a worship service, but a non-denomionation time that is open to everyone—of all denominations and religions—in the community of Tualatin, Oregon. The church will even provide free rides for those who don't have transportation.

Christmas Day Open House plans include a free turkey dinner and lots of good conversation. Several televisions will be set up to show the Christmas day football games, with a Chandra Pierce video available for those who do not enjoy football. There'll be games and small presents for kids and, of course, musical instruments are available should spontaneous singing of Christmas carols break out.

By opening the church to the community, Boones Ferry Community Church hopes to make Christmas Day a little less lonely as we celebrate the day of our Savior's birth.

The open house is being organized in partnership with Tualatin's Mission to America (http://www.mtainfo.com), who will provide free Christmas gifts of small Christian toys, the Jesus video, free Bibles and free books from the Young Christian Library series.

Boones Ferry Community Church is also partnering with Tualatin's Mission to America to start a second new ministry in January 2004 called Friday Night Videos. It will feature weekly Christian videos ranging from comedy to the teaching of Bruce Wilkerson and R.C. Sproul.
